10/1/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 155
Haven’t gone to the Saturday morning class in a very long time. Worked on straight ankle locks and toe holds. This was a fun class and I enjoyed drilling with Josiah. It was also great to see Brandon from the old morning crew again.
The morning class always reminds me of how many people there are that are way better than me at jiu-jitsu. Very humbling. Onward and upward.
9/30/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 154
Great morning class with 16 awesome people. Pete S. came in to show us some guillotine techniques. Tony M. was very helpful even though I was sucking it up. His neck is like a concrete block so that probably made things tougher. Onward and upward.
9/29/22 - KB and Mace Swings
Got a little afternoon movement training in on a beautiful sunny day.
Rounds of 2 with 50 second intervals - 10 rounds of:
One-Handed Swings - 24 kg x 10 reps
Quad Mace 360s x 10 reps
Right hip got a little stiff but not too bad.
9/28/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 153
Really fun morning class with 13 awesome people. Worked on some stand-up inside arm pummeling and then moved on to head-and-arm chokes. Such a great crew. Onward and upward.
9/27/22 - Block Pulls and Such
Got some training in. My lower back felt weird but everything else felt good.
Block Pulls (7 mats/5.25”) - sets of 5 - 135, 185, 225
One-Arm Kneeling KB Press - sets of 5 - 12 kg, 16, 20, 24 x 3 sets superset with
Chins - BW x 6 x 5
Happy I could do some block pulls.
9/26/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 152
Great morning crew. Ryan brought in Ben, one of the gyms other black belts, to teach a lockdown into electric chair move. This was fun and a nice change of pace.
I found out Jess is going to be moving away very soon and it genuinely bummed me out. She’s been a great training partner and has taught me a lot.
Onward and upward.
9/25/22 - DB Bench and KB Swings
Was grateful to get a bit of training in this Sunday morning.
Dumbbell Bench - worked up to 60s x 3 x 10
Two-Handed KB Swings - 32 kg x a bunch of sets x 10 reps
Barbell Rows - sets of 12 - 95, 115, 135 - I started with some one-arm KB rows but I tweaked my lower back
Not the most mind-blowing workout but at least I could move a bit.
9/23/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 151
Great morning crew of about twelve today. Worked on some passing guard techniques. I’ve been getting a ton of value training with some of the newer white belts. I’ve actually been able to slow down and practice some techniques without just getting smashed. Onward and upward.
9/19/22 - Jiu-Jitsu Day 150

We had 17 awesome people at class this morning. Worked on playing from half guard and some other fun. I got my ass kicked but it was a great day. We also made a video for Scott since he’s out of commission following an accident. I’ll be happy when he’s back on the mat. Onward and upward.
